Who We Are

Since A.D. 1923, Emmaus has been a place where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is faithfully proclaimed and the Sacraments are rightly administered. We are an orthodox, confessional, and liturgical Lutheran congregation -- rooted in Holy Scripture, bound by the Lutheran Confessions, and shaped by the historic liturgy of the Western Church. Here at Emmaus, you will find the timeless faith of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church delivered in Word and Sacrament for the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.

Emmaus has served the South Bend community for over a century. We remain a place where the faithful gather around the Lord's gifts -- His preached Word, Holy Baptism, Holy Absolution, and the Lord's Supper -- just as Christians have done throughout the ages.
